POWER TO THE PEOPLE
Is there really strength in numbers? Do the 'people' really possess power in the form of masses? Nothing great comes from the masses. The masses are a numerical equation to or for profits for a business. They are Nielsen numbers to calculate ratings. They are just clicks and views for any media or social media platform to boost 'likes' and the egos that feed into it. Where is that 'power of and for the people'?
The 'people' or masses do rise up when the egragious occurs such as when banks or financial institutions blatantly 'take' money from accounts in the guise of 'account fees'. The 'people' or masses do take note when certain companies or corporations intrude or give the impression of 'customer service' but are actually intruding in on your/their privacy, rights or opinions.......but yet the 'people'/masses eventually go along with it. Know why? MEMORY & TIME & MEDIA. At times humans have a short attention span and as time progresses that attention span and memory slowly regresses and then you add any media news-related story, OR, just any media, then that takes the place of the previous thought or idea a person may have in their heads and the 'people' or masses will go about and carry-on as business as usual and keep patronizing those same business and/or organizations that offended or cheated them in the first place. Where's the power to the people? Nothing great comes from the masses.
Any triumph or tragedy is followed by the 'people'/masses view points and their thoughts or feelings. With different media platforms, a person could actually see how much of a SHEEP our society really has become. The 'people' basically repeat and follow whatever everyone else has said and it's done in a manner to receive attention. That's all. The 'people' want attention without having to work at it and therefore they just piggyback off of the other 'people' in society.
You want an example? Just take note whenever some 'celebrity' dies and the masses or the 'people' are usually quick to state their condolences, which is cool but the majority of these 'people' actually try to make that death into some sort of odd connection, all the while they treat and disrespect the people who are actually alive with no respect and of course that same 'celebrity' would probably treat the 'people'/masses like crap, but yet, the 'people' act like they are at a great loss and this is why their condolences fall flat. So goes the masses.
The power will always belong to the one who actually uses their own mind and pursue their own path instead of following the masses or the 'people'. The one who can enable that singularly mind-vision will be the one that can and will corral the 'people'/masses and actually have them believe they have the power.
